Your key is in your dashboard, under Settings. It turns green on its own the first time it loads: there is nothing to click to verify.

Any website where you can paste that line before the closing body tag. The dashboard has step by step instructions for Shopify, WordPress, Webflow, Wix and Squarespace, plus a generic one for anything else.

One thing about the tester on this page: the live preview opens your site inside a frame, and a few sites block being framed. That is a limit of the preview, not of Novvatar: installed on your own site, there is no frame involved.

It reads your pages once and builds an index of what each one is for, and the widget also reads the screen it is standing on, which is what lets it work on apps where the pages are drawn by JavaScript. Starter re-reads your site every week and Growth every day.

The tour, yes, and that is the part visitors always see: you edit it in your dashboard on a draft, and your visitors keep seeing the published one until you press publish.

Free form answers are written on the spot, so there is no list of them to correct one by one. What you do get is the Questions tab: the actual topics visitors asked about, and their words too if your plan saves them and you turned that on.

Your guided tour keeps running, because it is already written and its voice is already recorded. What stops is new answers, until the next cycle or a top-up.

Free is different: it has no answers to run out of, and if it goes past 50 sessions in a month Novvatar switches off until the next one.

A session is one visitor within 30 minutes. An answer is counted once when it is written, whether the visitor reads it or hears it.

Novvatar sends the minimum content needed to its AI and voice providers to generate responses. Four different questions hide inside this one, so here they are apart.

1. Training. OpenAI and Anthropic state that commercial API data is not used for model training by default. ElevenLabs depends on the privacy settings of the account it runs under; that setting is not confirmed yet, so nothing is claimed about it here. Note that not training on something is not the same as not storing it, and the two are answered separately on purpose.

2. Retention and storage. On our side: the words a visitor types are only stored if you turn that on, and it is off by default. When it is on they are kept for a period you choose, 30 days unless you change it, patterns that look like personal data are removed before anything is written, and no visitor id is kept beside them. Text read from your pages is kept 90 days, and only lines that two different visitors have seen. Each provider keeps its own retention terms, which are theirs and not ours to state.

3. Audio recordings. There is no recording of your visitor's voice. The microphone uses the speech recognition built into their own browser, so what leaves the page is text, never an audio file. One honest caveat: in some browsers that built-in recognition is a service of the browser maker, and then the audio goes to them, under their terms and not ours. What we do send is the other direction, the sentence Novvatar is about to say, so it can come back as audio; it is cached on our server so the same sentence is not paid for twice.

4. Transcriptions. What the microphone turns into text becomes an ordinary typed question and follows rule 2 exactly: not stored unless you turn it on.

The privacy page lists every provider and exactly what reaches each one.

Yes, and you keep what you paid for. Cancelling stops the renewal: your plan stays exactly as it is until the end of the period you already paid, and only then does the account drop to Free. It is never closed and nothing is deleted.

Billing runs through Lemon Squeezy, who are the merchant of record. Your dashboard has a Subscription section: when Lemon has given us the link for your account, there is a button there that opens their portal, where you change your card or cancel yourself. If that link is not there yet, the same section says so and you write to me instead. Either way the rule above about the paid period does not change.
